ID-card

Since December 2018 SK is issuing electronic certificates for identity documents in cooperation with the French company IDEMIA Identity & Security France and the Estonian company Hansab AS.

Identity documents are issued by the Police and Border Guard Board (PBGB) - their service points accept applications for the document and verify correctness of the provided information. IDEMIA production cards are personalized by Hansab and, as the last necessary component, SK issues electronic certificates to the card.

Problems related to ID-card usage are solved by ID-card helpline that can be reached by calling (+372) 666 8888 (working days from 8:30 – 17:00). In addition, problems can also be sent via web form on ID.ee.

 ID-card certificates can be suspended 24/7 by calling to a suspension line number (+372) 677 3377 or 1777.

The following additional services related to the ID card are provided by the PBGB customer service points:

  • certificate validity check
  • activation of certificates (termination of suspension);
  • suspension of certificates;
  • revocation of certificates;
  • change of PIN codes.
